It’s about culture, optimism and “happiness” — that’s what anand means in Hindi. Now in its 43rd year, the India Association of North Texas’ Anand Bazaar celebrates people, food and art of Indian heritage. (Fast fact: Led by Mahatma Gandhi’s movement of nonviolent resistance, India declared independence from British rule on Aug. 15, 1947.) Here in D-FW, festivities include “food stalls featuring regional and non-Indian cuisine” plus music and dances, wares for sale, parades and fireworks.

The India Association of North Texas presents the annual Anand Bazaar, a celebration of India's independence day. Sample a variety of Indian foods and enjoy cultural music and dance from various regions of Inida. There will be a vendors marketplace, a parade and fireworks.
