The Sammons Center for the Arts celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special concert featuring Arlington Jones & The Brethren and Diane Schuur.

Arlington Jones & The Brethren kicks off the concert with a rousing set of original music. Jones, a Steinway Artist and composer who serves as the artistic director of Sammons Jazz, is known for his energetic performances and high-spirited melodies. His group, The Brethren, includes Brannen Temple on drums and Nick Clark on bass.

Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist/pianist Diane Schuur leads her ensemble in a memorable second set that showcases her bold vocals and expansive jazz stylings. Discovered "officially" by sax virtuoso Stan Getz at the 1979 Monterey Jazz Festival, Schuur has developed a worldwide fan base.

Blind since her premature birth, Schuur has participated in many charitable and educational projects including fundraisers for The Braille Institute, Music Doing Good, Inc. and the World Institute on Disabilities. Performing with Schuur are Roger Hines on electric and acoustic bass, John Nastos on saxophone and Kendall Kay on drums.

Tickets start at $30 per person and can be bought online or by calling 214-871-5000.
