Festival of Joy

Eric Allen of Houston enjoys the sun-drenched afternoon with his 19-month-old daughter Addison at Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas, photographed on Monday, January 23, 2017.

Kalachandji’s and the Crow Collection of Asian Art present the Festival of Chariots - or Ratha Yatra - in the Dallas Arts District. The family celebration includes a parade, music, dancing and feasting. For the first time, downtown Dallas joins other global city centers including New York City's Fifth Ave. and London's Picadelly Circus in celebrating Ratha Yatra.

Festivities start with a parade procession departing the Dallas Museum of Art at 11 a.m. and ending at Klyde Warren Park.

There will be an abundance of family-friendly activities such as crafts, cultural displays, Indian dress-up booths, face painting/henna tattoos and more. A free vegetarian feast, along with other cultural and vegetarian preparations will available to enjoy with your family and friends.
