In his newest novel, 4 3 2 1, Auster transports readers into the life – or, more accurately, lives – of Archibald Ferguson. The book follows Archie down four different life paths, focusing on the convergence of time and circumstance within each of Archie’s lives. In 2006, Auster was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters and received the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature.
