Dallas Heritage Village’s annual Roaring Twenties block party is the cat’s meow. Matt Tolentino’s Singapore Slingers and others will perform hit songs from the era. Don’t know how to Charleston? Elaine Hewlett from the Rhythm Room will teach dance steps, so everyone can shake a leg. And don’t forget to arrive dressed in flapper finery to pose with antique cars, visit the photo booth or compete in the best-dressed contest. Blankets and picnic baskets are welcome, but there will be some food to purchase, as well, plus a “secret” speakeasy called Lucky Lindy’s Lounge, open only to those who purchase special tickets. “Keep your eyes peeled for it and don’t tell the Fuzz,” organizers tease.

Travel back to the Jazz Age at this afternoon festival that includes dancing to live jazz music by Matt Tolentino's Singapore Slingers and Dave Washburn's Three Quarters Fast Jazz Band. Take a dance lesson to learn some great steps, shop vintage vendors, see antique cars and pose in the photo booth. Dress 1920s style and enter the Best Dressed contest. The event is rain or shine.
