Luna at Granada Theater
Kelly Dearmore Recommends
There aren’t many American bands that embody the ethereality of dream pop as elegantly as Luna has for so many years. Formed in 1991 by Dean Wareham following his exit from seminal slow-core trio Galaxie 500, Luna became one of those critical darling indie bands that seemingly lived on the edge of hitting the mainstream — but never really broke through. Luna’s gorgeous alt-rock style was silent for a decade until the band regrouped for a tour in 2015. Two unusual releases, one a covers collection and the other an EP of instrumental compositions, signaled the full return in 2017 of the rather dreamy group.
