In late 2016, following the death of band co-leader Glenn Frey, Eagles singer and leader Don Henley told The Washington Post there would be no more Eagles performances “without the guy who started the band.” Such an outlook was understandable while Henley mourned his longtime partner, but soon the group added country icon Vince Gill and Frey’s son Deacon to the mix and have been soaring ever since. With the aging of music’s oft-called “classic rock era,” bands moving on after the death of a key member is more prevalent than ever. Catch them while you can.
