Since the 1980s, Grambling State Tigers and Prairie View A&M Panthers have traveled to Dallas during the State Fair to go head-to-head on the grass of the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. The Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic is filled with great football for four quarters and a stunning halftime show featuring the eye-popping antics and high-stepping gyrations of the universities' marching bands and female dance lines.
Kick-off is 4 p.m.
Special guests will include Grambling alumna and Dallas' new police chief, U. Renee Hall. Gospel recording artist Darian Yancy will sing the national anthem.
General admission tickets are $28 in advance and $34 on game day. Available online and at a more than a dozen locations, including all William's Chicken restaurants, Catfish Floyd's, Friendship West Baptist Church and City Federal Credit Union.
