Steinfest (UPDATED) at Haggard Park
Brentney Hamilton Recommends
If you’ve secretly dreamed of dancing down the brick streets of Plano’s arts district, here’s your shot. This Oktoberfest-style fall festival features polka dancers hopping to a half-time beat on a bustling 15th Street -- not to mention, a wiener dog fashion show, a brat eating contest, keg bowling, giant beer pong and more. Admission and parking are free, but the latter is limited, so consider taking the DART red line, which rolls right up to the festival. Purchase festival coupons for kolaches, wurst, kraut and Karbach beer. Take the whole family for playtime in the Kiddie Play Patch ($10) with a petting zoo, face painting, bounce houses and harvest photo-ops.
Steinfest brings Oktoberfest fun to historic downtown Plano. There will be great eats, dancing in the streets to live polka bands, wiener dog fashion show, keg bowling, stein racing, vendors marketplace, kids zone and a VIP beer garden.
Admission to the festival and activities are free; food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase. VIP packages will be on sale soon.
