Celebrate the grand re-opening of Buckner Park at the 2nd annual PorchFest with local music, arts, food and a painted rocks hunt for the kids (2 p.m.).

Ribbon Cutting, noon: After extensive renovations, East Dallas' Buckner Park, established in 1914, is officially reopened.

PorchFest, noon - 8 p.m.: Throughout the day, local musicians will perform on the front porches of homes along Worth Street. Porches are an iconic feature of many Peak’s Addition residences. Peak’s Addition is East Dallas’ oldest residential neighborhood and is known for its architectural diversity and meticulous restorations. The neighborhood, roughly bounded by Live Oak, Peak, Worth and N. Fitzhugh streets, was founded in 1855.

Performers include Jenna Clark, Big Ass Brass Band, Dallas Wind Symphony, Dallas Police Dept. Choir and more.

Event proceeds are going toward the planting of 50 trees, repair of more than 1,500 feet of sidewalk and other community beautification projects.
