The Sammons Center for the Arts presents its third Discovery concert of unique music and musicians with a rare performance by D'Drum. Renowned for their mastery of more than 75 world percussion instruments, D’Drum - John Bryant, Doug Howard, Jamal Mohamed, Ed Smith and Ron Snider - blends music from Bali, Africa, Persia and other cultures with Western classical and jazz forms to create their own acoustic sound.

Each member of D'Drum maintains a busy schedule of performing and teaching. One of their more recent projects was a documentary film, Dare to Drum. The film chronicled the creation of "Gamelan D'Drum," their musical collaboration with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Stewart Copeland, Maestro Jaap van Zweden and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

D'Drum performs a 75-minute set at the Sammons Center beginning at 8 p.m. Admission includes valet parking, light appetizers and beverages. Doors to Meadows Hall open at 7:30 p.m.

For tickets or more information, call the Sammons Center at 214-520-7788.
