Gary Numan / Me Not You at Trees

An early star of electronic rock who quickly faded into obscurity, 59-year-old British singer Gary Numan has gotten a career boost in recent years thanks to Kanye West, Trent Reznor and Dave Grohl calling him a pioneer. And rightfully so. Back when the internet was just a dream, Numan wrote song after song warning about a society overrun by technology, including his spellbinding 1979 hit “Cars.” Today, he’s still fretting over the future. In September, he released his 22nd studio record, Savage (Songs from a Broken World), a concept album about humans trying to live in desert-like conditions after global warming wreaks havoc on the planet. Opening the show is Me Not You, a gloomy New York duo made up of singer Nikki Taylor and bassist Eric Zeiler.
