5 Second Rule is an energetic acoustic band from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Their core backgrounds in traditional folk, rock and Celtic music set the foundation for inventive excursions into jazz, world music, and other realms including classic rock and Cajun music. Performing both traditional and original material, their eclectic blending of styles is well crafted and has had local audiences raving since coming on the scene in 2008. 5 Second Rule brings a range from folk to contemporary rolled in with an updated energetic trad feel. Their lineup features Michelle Feldman (fiddle), David Lovrien (whistles, sax, keyboards), Mike Tidwell (guitar, bouzouki), Paul Dryer (mandolin, guitar, banjo) and Rick Holt (drums, percussion). All the boys join in for vocals. Their unique arrangements and driving sound keep the audience guessing what they will come up with next.
