Artist John Picacio, who's currently creating fantasy versions of the 54 cards from the classic Lotería game, will be the guest of honor at ConDFW, a literary science-fiction and fantasy convention. The event will include panel talks, an art show, a book swap, an auction and a sci-fi spelling bee. (Author Charlaine Harris, who created Sookie Stackhouse in her series The Southern Vampire Mysteries -- the source material for True Blood -- canceled her appearance at the event.)

ConDFW is a literary science-fiction and fantasy convention, and this year's guest of honor is artist John Picacio.

Authors will take part in a multitude of panel talks and programming events throughout the weekend. Notable events include Q&A and signings with our Guest of Honor, an art show, a charity book swap, an auction, and the sci-fi spelling bee.

Admission for 3 days is $40 (by Jan. 31) / $45 at the door. ConDFW takes place at the Radisson Hotel Fossil Creek in Fort Worth and runs from 2 p.m. on Friday through 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 16-18.
