This event has already happened

Enjoy this special feature on the giant screen on the lawn of Klyde Warren Park. Popcorn, warm cider and fully loaded hot chocolate will be available to all guests. The Dallas Morning News subscribers will receive a free gift, and children are invited to check in at the booth for their very own Japanese themed snack of Pocky.

Kubo is a stop motion animation feature like The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach and the 1964 classic Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. It follows Kubo through an excellent telling of the classic Hero’s Journey set in a fantastical Japanese land. As parents, aunts and uncles ourselves we know how it feels to re-watch Finding Dory or Frozen for the umpteenth time. We hope that you’ll take this opportunity to enjoy a film not many got to see in theaters.

You’ll hear familiar voices from the vocal talents of George Takei, Charlize Theron, Matthew McConaughey and Ralph Fiennes.

The event is B.Y.O.B. -- Bring your own blanket. But don't worry: There'll be heaters to keep you warm. Arrive early for music, lawn games and concessions.
