This event has already happened

Due to inclement weather, the City of Irving has cancelled all Holiday Extravaganza events scheduled for Dec. 3, including its Blue Christmas Chili Cookoff, the Irving Holiday Parade, the tree lighting and fireworks, and its city hall open house. The city rescheduled its Christmas tree lighting for 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. The other Holiday Extravaganza events will not be rescheduled.
The Holiday Extravaganza is a two-part event, featuring a community parade through the Heritage District followed by a tree lighting ceremony outside of Irving City Hall. The fun will begin at 4 p.m. when the parade winds through the streets of downtown Irving, featuring floats, bands, and community organizations. Immediately following the parade, head to Irving City Hall for the official lighting of the City of Irving's tree! The festivities include a holiday stage show with dance, music, and a special appearance by Santa Claus. Enjoy carols and complimentary hot chocolate as we count down to the lighting of the tree and a fireworks display.
