Bring the family for a celebration of Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican holiday that honors deceased loved ones. There will be activities for the kids, mariachis, Mayan dancers, prizes and giveaways. The event is free and open to the public.

The cemetery, located in the Bachman Lake area, is traditionally visited by families on Dia de los Muertos. The Festival will build on this tradition by presenting a theatrical production, commissioned by the Hughes Family Tribute Center, by Teatro Flor Candela and a dance presentation by Grupo Pakal, specializing in Mayan dance presentations.

The Festival will also feature altar building and blessing; vendors of traditional Dia de los Muertos items such as marigolds, pastries, and sugar skulls; children’s activities, live music, and prize drawings. The Festival closes with a showing of the animated film The Book of Life.

Grupo Pakal – 5:00 pm
Teatro Flor Candela – 6:15 pm
