As if the Titan’s 255-foot drop weren’t terrifying enough, this annual Halloween-themed amusement park takeover includes creepers, cadavers and clowns in six haunted-house mazes with names like Cirkus Berzerkus and Piggy’s Blood Shed. Special performances include a zombie dance party and a horrifying take on The Bachelorette — where a spook hunts for husband number 14. Daytime is more family-friendly, but evening hours are recommended only for ages 13 and up. After dark, “terror isn’t confined to haunted attractions,” organizers say, as “the ghouls have spread to the streets to ‘greet’ you.”

Six Flags Over Texas is home to Fright Fest, the annual Halloween event that transforms the classic amusement park into a spooky maze of haunted attractions. For a tamer experience, families can visit the park during daylight, while the scarier activities begin after dark. The 2018 lineup features zombies, goblins, ghouls, cadavers and clowns. For a truly terrifying evening, check out the haunted houses for an additional admission fee. A pass to visit all six is $29.99 plus tax, or visiting one house costs $14.99.

If purchased online, general admission tickets start at $66.99 plus tax. If purchased at the gate, general admission tickets start at $81.99 plus tax. Season passes for the park and the haunted houses are available.
