The 12 Days of Christmas at Dallas Arboretum
Brentney Hamilton Recommends
Though I'd lived in Dallas for well over a decade, it never occurred to me that the Dallas Arboretum would be a fabulous place to enjoy the holidays. It's not just for springtime, folks: this jewel near White Rock Lake turns into a winter wonderland, with a walking tour of twelve enchanting Christmas scenes. We're calling it a new family tradition.
Day-time admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for children 3-12, and free for children two and under. Additional cost of $3 per person for entrance into the Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden. On-site parking is $15; pre-purchased online parking is $8. The Arboretum will offer $5 admission from Jan. 2 through Feb. 24. This offer is only available for tickets purchased at the gate.
12 Days of Christmas at Night: The Arboretum is open for special lighted nighttime showings on Wednesdays through Sundays, Nov. 9 through Dec. 30, (except for Nov. 24 and Dec. 24-25). A variety of holiday music is provided throughout the garden. Seasonal sweet and savory treats and hot beverages for children and adults are available for purchase. In addition, starting on November 30, the DeGolyer House will be open Wednesday evenings during 12 Days of Christmas at Night for guests to enjoy the new Santa Claus exhibit in the lavishly decorated, historic DeGolyer House, on loan from members of Junior League of Dallas. Night-time admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for children 3-12, and free for children two and under. From Dec. 28-30, bring a friend for buy-one-get-one-free admission. This offer is valid for purchases made at the ticket booth only.
