UPDATE: The musicians of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra announced a strike as a result of an impasse in contract negotiations. This causes the cancellation of all concerts through Nov. 6.
It's a concert showcasing music from England. Elgar's Enigma Variations, 14 vivid and charming sketches of his friends and acquaintances, forms the centerpiece of this concert. Written in 2006, Thomas Adès' Three Studies from Couperin takes inspiration from composer Francois Couperin and provides beautifully orchestrated settings for three of the French master's works. And Britten's song cycle, Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings, will showcase the talents of tenor Paul Appleby and the FWSO's own principal horn, Molly Norcross.
