Lukas Graham at House of Blues
Thor Christensen Recommends
Young pop-soul singers are a dime a dozen these days. But the fast-rising Danish band Lukas Graham has cracked open the cashbox with “7 Years,” a minor-chord tune about aging that 27-year-old singer Lukas Graham Forchhammer co-wrote after the death of his father. Last month, the song snared three Grammy nominations, including ones for record and song of the year. Those big trophies are likely to go to Beyoncé and Adele, but even if Forchhammer leaves empty-handed, he’ll still get a huge career boost by singing “7 Years” in front of millions of Grammy viewers on Feb. 12.
