Granbury was named after Gen. Hiram B. Granbury and each year the city throws a big birthday celebration in his memory. A bean, rib and brisket cook-off is part of the celebration in Granbury's historic square and city beach. The festival also includes a parade, bean eating and bean spittin' contests, plus Bull Riding on the Beach. Everyone is invited to enjoy birthday cake and ice cream as part of the opening ceremony. Hosted by The Historic Granbury Merchants Association.
