When news landed that Taste Addison would return, readers came out of the woodwork to show excitement. You guys really love that fest! And I get it: It's family-friendly, it's not too expensive and it's an Addison institution. You can bet a whole lot more people will be at the reinvented Taste Addison this year than at last year's fancier Fork and Cork.

This family-friendly food and music festival returns after taking a two-year break while the town tried out an upscale food fest called Fork and Cork. This reinvented Taste Addison will include pay-per-bite samples from 30 local restaurants including Blue Mesa, Flying Saucer, Mad Batter Baker and May Dragon (most will be in the $3 to $5 range), stages full of live music (the Band Perry is the fest’s headlining act and plays 9:30 p.m. Saturday), cooking demonstrations and a children’s activity area.

$15 in advance for adults ($20 at the event), $10 for children 4-12, free for children 3 and younger.
