Break out your best green garb -- the Dallas' St. Patrick's Day festival is one of the most fun events of the year. Start the day on Upper Greenville where floats parade down the road, then gradually make your way south to Lower Greenville where you'll find free live music and beer at every corner. Crash a house party and make new friends, or stop by the Third Eye Blind concert. And remember: It's a marathon, not a sprint.

The Dallas St. Patrick's Parade & Festival has been a tradition in Dallas for more than 30 years, and it's one of Dallas' biggest drinking events. You're likely to spot marching bands, bagpipers, dancers and plenty of green-clad revelers along the 2-mile route, which runs from Greenville and Blackwell south to Greenville and SMU Blvd. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is this year's Grand Marshall.

The parade is free to attend along the parade route. There will be stadium bleachers seats available in the Meadow's Building area - $20, $15 for children 11 and younger. Seating is first come, first serve.

Mavs Corner (CVS parking lot, SE corner of Lovers Lane & Greenville)
The Dallas Mavericks are once again the presenting sponsor and will have a huge presence in the parade with two floats, the Mavs Express bus, Mavs Dancers, Mascots and ManiAACs. The Mavs Corner will feature food trucks, exhibitors and Mavericks entertainers. Open 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Family Place Zone (Meadows Building parking lot)
Food trucks, exhibitor booths, sponsor exhibits, activities; open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Brew Fest
The beer garden will be located in the Office Depot parking lot at Greenville and Milton from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Features a food truck, exhibitors and a DJ Station. Brew Fest sponsors include Ben E. Keith/Anheuser-Busch, Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Goose Island IPA, Montejo Cerveza and Shock Top Belgium White. Eight beers will be available for $6 each.
