This year, Dallas will have only one parade honoring the birthday of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. (traditionally there have been two, but organizers have joined forces). Radio personality Tom Joyner is the grand marshal for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Celebration, with a procession down Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and a fest at Fair Park's Automobile Building.

The parade features 200 entries including some of North Texas' top marching bands, floats, churches, community organizations, cartoon characters, elected officials, classic cars and much more. Tom Joyner will serve as the Parade Grand Marshal. Step off time is 10 a.m. and organizers suggest arriving early to get a good viewing spot along MLK Jr. Blvd.

Following the parade there will be a celebration held at Fair Park from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. with live entertainment, health screenings and information, college & career fair, fashion show, children's activities, vendors, food, fun and more. It will be a celebration for the entire family.
