With more than 30 teams, including Team USA, in town for the Derby World Cup, you have your pick of countries to root for. And if you’re cheering (or sneering) with gusto, you’ve got a Derby nickname, too: bleacher creature.
"Blood and Thunder Magazine" presents the 2nd Roller Derby World Cup Tournament - 30 countries, 3 tracks, 4 days. The 65+ bouts take place in the 100,000 sq ft Exhibit Hall A and in the Arena at the Dallas Convention Center. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. each day, bouts begin at 9 a.m.
Sunday's schedule includes a Parade of Nations Ceremony at 9 a.m., with semifinals at 10 a.m. and noon, a Jr. Roller Derby Expo bout at 2 p.m., an All Stars Expo bout at 3:30 p.m., finals at 5 p.m., followed by the closing ceremony.
Tournament passes, available online, are $135. Single day tickets will be available at the door, while supplies last. All seats are General Admission.
Children between the ages of 4-10 are half price. Children 3 and under are free, but must be on someone's lap and not take up a seat.
