International Dank Eating World Championship at Kung Fu Saloon
Rand Duren Recommends
The challenge here is eating the 10-inch-tall sandwich called The Dank. It includes two cheeseburger patties, two grilled cheese sandwiches, an onion ring and bacon.
The Dank is a 10-inch-high sandwich consisting of two cheese and jalapeno-stuffed beef patties topped with bacon, onion rings, more cheese and the works, stuffed between two grilled cheese sandwiches.
The competition is free to enter, and it kicks off with two qualifying rounds taking place on Saturday, April 5 and Saturday, April 12 at 3 p.m. Online registration for the Qualifying Rounds begins April 1.
At each qualifying round event, the 15 contestants (10 who pre-registered online and five walk-up contenders) will be split into two groups. The top two who can eat the most Danks from each group will advance to the championship competition on Sunday, April 20 at 4:20 p.m.
Every Dank will be weighed immediately before the competition begins, and competitors will have 10 minutes to ravage as many Danks as humanly possible. Any morsels left on the plate after 10 minutes will be weighed to determine which three lucky contestants compete in the final round. Once judges rule who has consumed the most Danks in the final round, the emcee will crown the International Dank Eating World Champion, who will win an old-school tabletop arcade game and a Kung Fu Ninja Key Chain good for round-the-clock Happy Hour prices and line-cutting abilities.
