After standing up and taking the fight to cancer at the end of 2017, the team behind the charity telethon Who Needs Sleep is back for round two.

Spearheaded by Devin Pike, a beloved Dallas personality that himself has battled cancer twice, Who Needs Sleep's mission is to raise money for two local charities: Cancer Support Community North Texas and Cook Children's Hospital of Dallas. The 36-hour telethon, which will kick off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1 and run through 8 p.m. on Sept. 2, will feature music from local bands, game shows, interviews, roundtable discussions, comedy and more.

In addition to traditional pledge donations, supporters can also bid on items that include Star Wars collectibles and tickets to see Hamilton in Chicago. The most unique item, though? The power to choose what horrible/wonderful thing is done to Devin Pike's beard. ("Retail Value: Priceless.")

Announced guests and performers for the 2018 show include Real Housewives of Dallas star LeeAnne Locken, Dallas bands Bad Karma and Not Ur Girlfrenz, comedian Britainy Goss and The Dallas Morning News' Robert Wilonsky. Promo material also mentions "surprises guests you've heard of."
