Which airport? Depends on which school: From SMU, the No. 1 Lyft destination was DFW International Airport, while from TCU, the top spot was Dallas Love Field, the data shows.
After those, the similarities between Lyft's dropoff locations drop off. With Southern Methodist University and Texas Christian University located some 40 miles apart, it isn't all that surprising that people leaving SMU asked for rides to Katy Trail Ice House in Dallas while those on TCU's campus headed toward America Gardens, a backyard-style bar in Fort Worth.
Shopping was a big draw for the customers in Dallas, who visited NorthPark Center, Mockingbird Station and Central Market as three of the top 15 destinations. None of the top 15 Lyft stops from TCU were shopping related.
The data was measured over the 2017-2018 school year, and the data claims to reveal the movement of college students, specifically. But how'd the Lyft drivers know these customers were college students, you're wondering? Technically, they didn't: The data was pulled from people being picked up from each campus, whoever they were.
