You've seen the typical maternity photo: It's a mom wearing a floor-length, flowy dress, standing someplace green. Perhaps she has fashioned her hands over her expectant belly, forming the shape of a heart.
That is not the way Texan Amy Scott wanted her maternity photos to go.
She strolled the aisles of H-E-B, eating Blue Bell ice cream, picking up Tums and grabbing jars of pickles, according to a story from the Houston Chronicle. Y'know, things pregnant moms tend to do.
"Most maternity photoshoots are glamorous and serene. I did not want that," she told the Chronicle. "I wanted to eat my favorite foods." The photos were taken at an H-E-B in Tomball, Texas, by photographer Lauren Giles.
In honor of Scott's love for H-E-B, here are some other places Texans should take Major Life Moment photos:
- At Whataburger. It seems like a great place for prom or for an 80th birthday.
- Standing (or sitting, rather) in bluebonnets. It is possible to make it funny.
- At the Alamo. Remember it.
- At the State Fair of Texas. Corny dog bouquet optional.
- On a horse. Don't you have one, your Yankee friend always asks? You live in Texas.
- Inside Central Market. Because we don't have H-E-B in D-FW and, no, we don't want to talk about it.
- At Buc-ee's. Or you really want to be "Dallas"? Fuel City, with a taco in hand.
