You might have heard there's a gas shortage in North Texas. Residents of Dallas and its suburbs started flocking to gas stations late Wednesday, hoping to beat the rush and fill up their tanks.

Heck, I was one of them.

But the shortage appears to be a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Industry experts and government officials say that our area has plenty of gas, and that panicked drivers rushing to gas stations are creating a bigger problem than would have existed otherwise. (Dallas wasn't alone in this one. Austin and San Antonio also had their share of craziness.)

Humans aren't always smart, though. So we kind of... freaked out. 

Some more than others. Like, don't do this, people.
