The wait is over y'all -- Texas-themed emojis are now available for purchase in the iPhone app store!

As we reported in early May, the app is called TexMoji and it includes nearly 200 icons that represent everything Texans love about Texas, including queso, tacos, Whataburger, Shiner Bock, margaritas, cowboy hats, university team hand signals, Blue Bell, the Alamo and Willie Nelson, to name a few.

But if you're expecting a seamless emoji integration with your keyboard beware -- TexMojis function more like stickers and user reviews were quick to point out that they didn't like having to copy and paste the images. Others complained about the $1.99 price tag.

When we spoke to Sean Compton, the app's creator and voice behind @SorryImTexan, he said he hatched the idea one day after tweeting that he wished there was a Texas flag emoji.

"It dawned on my right after, I should just do that," the 24-year-old Lubbock native said in May.

Compton hopes the iPhone app will be a hit, and if it is, he will consider making a version for Android. We have high hopes for that since TexMoji is currently the No. 4 most popular paid app in the store. But in the meantime tweet @GuideLive with your favorite TexMoji; this calls for a Texas-sized celebration.
