The 2016 State Fair of Texas officially kicked off on Friday, with gates opening at 10 a.m. and the Opening Day Parade stepping off downtown at noon.

The annual parade, which travels down Main Street from Houston to Good-Latimer, included colorful floats, drill teams, horses — and even Elvises on minibikes. (They're called the Wheelie-ing Elvii, FYI.) The fair runs 24 days, from today through Oct. 23.
