Gooooooaaaaal! Chase your World Cup dreams in these D-FW soccer leagues

It’s been a few weeks since we witnessed all the nail-biting corner kicks, gravity-defying headers and miraculous hat tricks (thanks for this one, Carli Lloyd) of the 2015 Women’s World Cup and the 2015 Gold Cup. If you still have fútbol fever, it’s not too late to see what you can do on the field. Even if you’re just starting out, or played in middle school and want to dust off the old cleats, now is a perfect time to jump on the soccer bandwagon.

Whether you're willing to go up against the Texas heat and join an outdoor league, or you'd rather opt for the cooler indoor games, we've found a few options across the Dallas-Fort Worth area to look into.

Most of the leagues are offered year-round (with four seasons of play) so we didn't list that here, but we did note if a league is not available year-round.

Bubble soccer

Did you flinch rather than squeal in delight when watching players kick and slide tackle their way to the goal, but still don't want to give up on the dream? Bubble soccer might be more your speed. It's played just like regular soccer, but from inside a giant, plastic bubble.

Think of it like bumper cars on a soccer or indoor field. The sport originated as a joke in Norway in 2011. The United States didn't catch on to the trend until 2014, when this video of an Italian league playing the hilarious sport went viral.
