Audition to be a Mavs dancer on July 11

The Dallas Mavericks will have a new roster of female dancers come July 16.

Auditions for Mavs dancers begin July 11 inside a ballroom at the Hilton Anatole. The several-day auditions are open to females who are high-school graduates, 18 years or older and live in the D-FW area.

Being a Mavs dancer is not a full-time job but requires considerable time for practices and games. Many women train for months or years before auditions. Take a look at this Dallas Morning News story highlighting workout tips from the Mavs dancers.

The Mavs organization also offers prep courses June 2 through July 6 at D1 Dallas - Sports Training and Therapy. Classes are not mandatory but are encouraged and cost about $15 per session. (Discounts are available.) Find more info on classes and auditions here.
