John Mayer unloads on ... somebody04:59 PM CST on Friday, March 7, 2008Pop music golden boy John Mayer isn't above insecurity, regret and a short ton of bile. The singer-songwriter posted a cryptic message on one of his blogs, knocking an unnamed former girlfriend. "I was sitting in the airport lounge this morning when I started scribbling out lyrics and such," he wrote by way of exposition. "Don't read too far into this on a personal level ... I just thought it sums up how crazy love can be." His musings: Dear Ex Lover, Perhaps you didn't understand the last time I told you to stop contacting me, so I'll do my best to spell it out for you. I do not wish to have you in my life anymore. I don't know how much more clear I can be about it. It would serve you best to move on with your life and find someone who can put up with you, because I'm done trying. I hope this is enough closure for you. Goodbye P.S. If you need me, you know how to find me. Fans speculated that it might be a (somewhat mixed) message for Jessica Simpson. (In the past, Mr. Mayer has used a blog to defend Ms. Simpson, when fans gave her grief for dating Tony Romo.) But it's not as if she's the only candidate: He's also dated actresses Minka Kelly and Cameron Diaz.
