1985: Bruce Springsteen and actress Julianne Phillips get married in Oregon on her birthday. They divorce four years later. Mr. Springsteen later marries backup singer Patti Scialfa.

1990: Singer Ritchie Valens is posthumously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

1996: Actress Melanie Griffith marries actor Antonio Banderas in London.
