Miley gets support in photo fallout

Mass-media tongues continue to cluck about provocative photographs of Miley Cyrus in Vanity Fair magazine, while supporters of the Hannah Montana star respond:

•Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, says he and the 15-year-old's mother, Tish, left the shoot before the seminude pics were taken.

•Rosie O'Donnell backs Miley and the photos on her blog. "Leave Miley Cyrus alone," Ms. O'Donnell says in a video posted Monday night. "Disney [is] making her apologize. Ay yi yi." She described the pictures as beautiful.

•Hilary Duff, who knows about being in the public eye at a young age, shrugged off the controversy. "Everyone goes through things and takes their own path," she says. "Who am I to judge decisions that she made?"

Celebrity woe& behold

Ashley Alexandra Dupré, who was involved in the call-girl scandal that brought down a New York governor, on Monday sued Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis for $10 million, saying he exploited her name and image for profit. Mr. Francis rejects those claims. ... Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots) on Monday pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge and was sentenced to eight days in jail in Los Angeles.
