K-Fed: Britney needs the psychiatric help

•The psychiatrist who hospitalized Britney Spears, Dr. Deborah Nadel, is a highly respected therapist known for her compassion, a former colleague tells People magazine. "She's an excellent clinician and an excellent psychiatrist," says Harold Young, clinical director at the Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, Calif. He offered no opinion on Dr. Phil.

People is also hearing that her ex-husband Kevin Federline thinks the psychiatric hospital is the best place for her now. He "doesn't want her to get out until she's made progress," says an unnamed confidante of Mr. Federline.

Everybody was so busy with Britney they didn't notice Justin Chambers (Grey's Anatomy) checked himself briefly into the same psych ward, at UCLA Medical Center. He suffers from a sleeping disorder, his rep told TMZ.com. ... Star Jones' post-View effort, The Star Jones Show, is going off the air by "mutual agreement" between her and TruTV, the network formerly known as Court TV announced Thursday.
