Jimmy Fallon to take Conan's late-night spot

NBC has scheduled a news conference for today to announce that Jimmy Fallon, a former cast member of Saturday Night Live, is to be named the third host – after David Letterman and Conan O'Brien – of the network's Late Night talk show. Mr. Fallon will likely take the helm in June 2009.

Mr. Fallon is expected to appear at the news conference accompanied by Lorne Michaels, executive producer of Saturday Night Live," who was also responsible for choosing O'Brien's Late Night successor.

Dennis Farina arrested

for gun at LA airport

Dennis Farina was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday after a loaded gun was found in his carry-on luggage.

Police say the actor told them he forgot the .22-caliber handgun, which was not registered, was in his luggage.

Late Sunday, Mr. Farina was being held on the felony charge, with bail set at $35,000.

Mr. Farina, 64, has a role in the Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz comedy What Happens in Vegas. He has also starred in TV's Law & Order.
