Bill Lively stepping down as president, CEO of Dallas Center for the Performing Arts01:25 PM CDT on Thursday, October 16, 2008
As president and CEO of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, Bill Lively helped raise most of the $338 million needed for its capital campaign. But with the bulk of his fund-raising duties completed, Mr. Lively will be stepping down as president and CEO, officials announced Thursday. He will transition into "a new role as president of the Center's Endowment Trust" beginning Jan. 1. Howard Hallam, chairman of the board, said the center has begun a nationwide search for its new president and CEO "to manage and lead the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts in all aspects of its operations and programming. We are looking for a man or woman who has demonstrated success in running a performing arts center. Dallas has never had a performing arts center before. We have never run one of these things. So, it's critically important to get someone who has experience, who has done it and done it well." So far, the center has raised $334 million toward its goal, but, officials said Thursday, that includes $16.5 million that went for purposes other than design and construction, such as direct support to its resident companies. As a result, the center is hoping to raise more than $338 million. This text is invisible on the page, but this text is affected by the invisible item's flow.
