It looks as though Nicole Kidman isn't earning her dough at the box office.

Ms. Kidman was named Hollywood's most overpaid celebrity in Forbes magazine's second annual list of least- bankable stars, taking the top spot from fellow Aussie Russell Crowe.

Ms. Kidman's films were estimated to only earn $1 for every dollar the Oscar-winning actress was paid, compared with $8 a year ago.

Forbes said the ranking was compiled by looking at stars' past three movies and dividing their total earnings by the films' gross income.

Ms. Kidman's ex, Tom Cruise, came in third on the list. Others in the top 10: Jennifer Garner, Cameron Diaz, Jim Carrey, Nicolas Cage, Drew Barrymore, Will Ferrell and Cate Blanchett.

Heather Mills has been "fired" from Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice before the NBC reality show's season even started, according to The Sun newspaper and Access Hollywood.com. The paper says Paul McCartney's ex was in talks to appear on the series but was dropped after she demanded a contract clause guaranteeing her a spot in the finals. "It soon became clear that getting her involved would be a headache," a network source is quoted as saying.

After revealing in July that she has hepatitis C, Grammy winner Natalie Cole is opening up about the agonizing treatment she's getting for the liver disease. "I thought I was dying," Ms. Cole, 58, says of the weekly chemotherapy injections she started in May. "I couldn't get out of bed for three weeks – literally. I was nauseous every day. I lost 15 pounds from not eating."

Doctors diagnosed the disease in April after a routine blood test. They say Ms. Cole probably contracted hepatitis C from sharing dirty needles when she was a heroin addict in the early '80s, and that it remained dormant in her body for 25 years.

Laila Ali, daughter of Muhammad Ali, and husband Curtis Conway have welcomed a baby boy. Curtis Muhammad Conway Jr. was born Aug. 26. ... Sarah McLachlan says she is separating from her husband, Ashwin Sood, who is also the drummer in her band. They've been married for 11 years and have two daughters, ages 6 and 14 months.
