Specialty films for Oct. 3-9

I SERVED THE KING OF ENGLAND (2006): This R-rated adaptation of a Bohumil Hrabal novel depicts the glamorous life at an old-world Prague hotel in the 1930s. Director Jiri Menzel previously won an Oscar for best foreign-language film with another Hrabal adaptation, Closely Watched Trains. 120 mins. Friday at 6 and 8:15 p.m., Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 and 4:15 p.m. at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St., Fort Worth. $8.50, $6.50 for members. 817-738-9215.

FIGHT CLUB (1999): Vivid, violent and compelling story of repressed men who vent their aggressions with brutal bare-knuckled fights. The film's satiric touches are its best, and it loses focus near the end. Not for the squeamish but definitely worth a look. Starring Brad Pitt. 139 mins. Friday and Saturday at midnight at the Inwood Theatre, 5458 W. Lovers Lane. $10, discounts for seniors and students. 214-352-5085.
