MOST UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE ON THE JOB: A trip for the movie "The River Wild." I spent the morning rafting down a wildwater river in Montana and the afternoon talking to Meryl Streep. In my story, I opined about her "glacier-blue eyes" -- a line my wife has never let me forget.

SOMETHING PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME: I grow the most amazing tomatoes.

IF I HAD TWO SPARE HOURS, I WOULD: Plant myself at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and stare at the water.

I AM ALWAYS ENTERTAINED BY: Robin Williams doing standup; the first day of the NCAA basketball tournament (it's the most wonderful time of the year); and my cats, Gus and Billie.
