Alan Peppard: Art lovers finding their way to Museum Tower12:00 AM CDT on Sunday, March 16, 2008The 42-story Museum Tower is being built in the heart of the Arts District, and it will have some residents with street cred in the Dallas arts scene. Arts patron Jeanne Marie Clossey is chairing the 2009 opening gala for the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. A longtime Highland Park resident, Jeanne Marie has purchased a home in Museum Tower. Artist Dan Rizzie was a staple on the Dallas scene until he relocated to East Hampton and, later, Sag Harbor, N.Y. Apparently we'll be seeing more of him. Museum Tower developers report that he will have a home in their modern glass building between the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Rotating his chefs The opening of the new Villa O pasteria has caused restaurateur Robert Colombo to juggle his chefs. That's good news for patrons of Robert's hotspot The Club in the Centrum. Amador Mora, who spent years as Dean Fearing's No. 2 at the Mansion on Turtle Creek, is moving from Robert's restaurant Trece to take over the kitchen at The Club. "Amador is thrilled with the move, and I am excited by his desire to put The Club up with the best Dallas has to offer," says Robert. "Replacing Amador at Trece will be his longtime executive sous chef Reuben Peck, also a former Mansion employee." The move is part of a larger plan to establish the newest restaurant in the family. "The sudden success of Villa O has prompted me to move Vincenzo Indelicato, the executive chef from The Club, over to Villa O as the concept chef," Robert says. "Rex Turner will continue as the executive chef of Villa O, and Vincenzo will work on recipes and new dishes." Villa O's family day Sunday brunch is drawing in big-name customers who live just across the Katy Trail in Highland Park. Mark Carroll's Follies For years, Dallas piano man Mark Carroll drew the crowds at the Mansion with his trio. He even wrote the trademark tune "Meet Me at the Mansion." Now he's living his dream of staging Ziegfeld-like follies. "A magnificent set, elaborate costumes and great music," he says. There's one catch. "You have to be 55 years old or over to be onstage," he says. Call it Catch-55. Mark will stage the Dallas Senior Follies Sept. 5-7 at Richardson's Eisemann Center with Frank Frazier III and Ned Startzel as executive producers, Aaron Patrick Turner as costume designer, Randel Wright as set designer and Carla Birmingham as choreographer. "The auditions will be held at the Lovers Lane United Methodist Church on March 29th and 30th," says Mark. "Many ex Junior Leaguers and several of my favorite society women have offered to be showgirls." Jonases in the house Teen band the Jonas Brothers elicited squeals all over Dallas not heard since the Beatles played Memorial Auditorium. Now that they're gone, we can reveal that Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas were holed up at Hotel Palomar on Central Expressway at Mockingbird Lane. No sign of their non-band-member brother, Frankie, a.k.a. the Bonus Jonas. This text is invisible on the page, but this text is affected by the invisible item's flow.
