Wordspace literary series to be held at Undermain
Wordspace, the Dallas literary organization, will present its new series, Texas Unbound 2006, over two weekends of readings, music and performance at the Undermain Theater in Deep Ellum, Aug. 10-13 and Aug. 17-20. Former Dallas poet Tim Seibles (now living in Norfolk, Va.) will open the series Aug. 10 with selections from his four published collections, including Hammerlock (1999). Other evenings will feature such fiction writers as Cristina Henriquez ( Come Together, Fall Apart) and Bryan Woolley (novelist and Dallas Morning News writer). There will also be staged readings of new plays by John Fullinwider (Shadows), Tom Sime (Klutz Theory ) and Vicki Cheatwood. Performances will include a Dallas blues evening with Blind Lemon Jefferson and Jimmie Rodgers – as performed by Akin Babatunde and Bruce DuBose, respectively. And Dancing Tongue, the local performance ensemble combining poetry, music, dance and art, will close the series Aug. 20. $7 each performance. All 7 p.m. at the Undermain, 3200 Main. 214-826-0877.
