A former Chili’s on bustling Henderson Avenue has been reborn as a buzzy French-American brasserie. The dining room has a relaxed elegance, and there’s a large patio that hints at a Parisian sidewalk cafe. Under the command of a talented pair of chefs (Dennis Kelley and Melody Bishop, late of Lark on the Park), the kitchen offers some updated versions of French classics, like brandade of salt cod, steak tartare and steak frites. But the modern American side of things is generally more interesting, including light, California-inflected dishes like the hamachi crudo and the crab tostada, as well as more substantial plates like the grilled yellowfin tuna and the Moroccan-accented lamb shank.
