Order at the bar at this laid-back, bare-bones Oak Cliff microbrewery, take a seat on a bench at a communal picnic table, and prepare to experience some of the most ambitious, interesting cooking in Dallas. Chef Misti Norris’ Modern Texas fare features bold flavors (plenty of vinegar and heat), a naturalist aesthetic and plenty of Southern inspiration. If the dishes (pig’s trotters, chicken feet and the like) seem challenging, try to go with it; they’re more approachable than they might sound. The menu is brief, and even briefer on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, when only bar snacks, including fabulous charcuterie, are available. It all goes great with head brewer-and-owner Aaron Garcia’s likable beers. Full bar. — Leslie Brenner/Guide
