The coolest thing about Bowen House is the fact it's a local landmark. Farmer and feed dealer Ahab Bowen owned the home in the late-1800s, and at the time, the land outside Dallas city limits. It has one of the best ambiances in town, as a renovated Victorian parlor with remarkable cocktails. There's no menu, just tell the bartender your spirit of choice. But be careful -- drinks can be expensive. And rumor has it the bar is haunted.

The Texas landmark, a 1800s-style saloon with pharmacy theme, serves Contemporary American and smoked foods.
