Opened in 1994, Raphael Carreon’s personable restaurant is one of Dallas’ most likable Tex-Mex spots. Chef Felix Padron, who has been cooking for Carreon since 1975, when he was opening chef at the erstwhile Raphael’s, turns out consistently likable fare. Standout dishes include seven-layer dip, avocado-studded “Mexican pico de gallo,” crispy beef tacos and enchiladas banderas. Specials can be quite good, too; margaritas are exemplary. Full bar. Closed Monday. -- Leslie Brenner/Guide
